This Privacy Policy explains how Nexus Software Systems (“we”) handles information in the BillPlex application (“App”). BillPlex is a household expense tracker focused on privacy-first design and local on-device data storage. Contact.
1) Data We Store
- Expense data (local only): amounts, dates, notes, categories, and user attribution are stored exclusively on your device. The App does not upload your expense data to our servers.
- Settings & preferences: language, UI options, and budget settings are stored locally on your device.
2) Processing Purposes
We process the data stored on your device solely to provide the App’s core functionality: expense tracking, insights, statistics, and optional import/export or local device-to-device sync initiated by you.
3) Permissions & Device Access
- Files (Import & Export): when you choose to import or export data, the App accesses only the files you select to read or write an encrypted backup.
- Local network / Nearby (optional): for Wi-Fi sync between your own devices, BillPlex may use local connectivity frameworks. You control when syncing starts, which devices pair, and when it stops.
- Microphone & Speech Recognition (optional): used only when you choose voice input. Your audio is processed by Apple’s system services to convert speech to text. BillPlex does not store or transmit your audio to its own servers.
- Camera: not used. The App does not capture or upload photos or videos.
5) Security
- On-device storage: data is stored in the App’s local database on your device.
- Backups: exported backup files are protected with a PIN chosen by you. Keep your PIN safe — we cannot recover it.
6) Retention & Deletion
All expense data remains under your control on your device. You can delete entries within the App, uninstall the App to remove local data, and delete any exported files you have created.
7) Your Rights
Since we do not host your expense data on our servers, rights such as access, correction, or deletion are exercised directly by you within the App. If you need guidance, you may contact us using the options below.
8) Children’s Privacy
BillPlex is intended for general household use. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Parents and guardians manage device usage and any data stored on the device.
9) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect improvements or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date will be adjusted accordingly.
